Fellowship of the Gorge Returns to the Kentucky State Fair
The Fellowship of the Gorge, representing Lee, Powell, Wolfe, Estill, and Menifee Counties, is once again joining forces to showcase the Red River Gorge region during the Kentucky State Fair at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Visitors can find the regional exhibit in the popular Pride of the Counties section from August 20-30th.
For many years, the five tourism organizations have worked together to promote the region as one unforgettable destination while highlighting the unique attractions, businesses, communities, and outdoor adventures found within each county. By sharing booth expenses, coordinating volunteer schedules, and working as a team, the Fellowship of the Gorge creates a welcoming experience that encourages fairgoers to discover everything our region has to offer.
The Kentucky State Fair welcomes more than 600,000 visitors each year, making it one of the Commonwealth's largest annual events. In addition to Kentuckians from every corner of the state, the fair attracts thousands of visitors from neighboring Indiana and Ohio because of its convenient location in Louisville. This provides an outstanding opportunity to introduce new travelers to the Red River Gorge region and encourage future visits to our communities.
Local businesses and organizations are invited to help tell the story of our region. If you own a business, short-term rental, campground, attraction, restaurant, event venue, or represent a nonprofit or community organization, we welcome brochures, rack cards, flyers, maps, coupons, event guides, or other promotional materials to display on our booth tables throughout the fair. Every brochure picked up is an opportunity to inspire someone's next getaway to the Red River Gorge region.
Promotional materials may be dropped off at your local county tourism office or at the Red River Gorge Welcome Center in Slade before the fair begins.
The Fellowship of the Gorge also welcomes volunteers who would like to help staff the regional exhibit during the Kentucky State Fair. Volunteers have the opportunity to meet travelers from across the country, answer questions about the region, and share what makes our communities special. If you are interested in volunteering for a booth shift, please contact your local county tourism director for scheduling information.
Together, the Fellowship of the Gorge continues to demonstrate that when our counties work together, we create a stronger regional tourism destination while celebrating the unique character, hospitality, and outdoor experiences that make each of our five counties worth exploring.
